How to Check and Pay for Customs Duty
This guide will show you how to get an estimated customs duty fee for your international shipments.
Terminal Africa now provides an estimated customs duty fee for every international shipment. This helps you plan better and avoid surprises when your package arrives in the destination country.
Here’s how it works:
Step 1: Start a New International Shipment
- Log in to your Terminal Africa account and click on “Book Shipment”.
Step 2: Enter Your Shipment Details
- Fill in the sender and receiver information.
- Add your package details (weight, dimensions, item description, and value).

The more accurate your item description and value, the more accurate your customs duty estimate will be.
Step 3: Select a Carrier
- After entering your package details, you’ll see a list of available carriers and shipping rates.
- Choose the carrier you prefer based on speed, price, or reliability.

Step 4: View Your Estimated Customs Duty
- Once you select a carrier, a customs duty estimate will automatically appear.
- This estimate helps you understand what the receiver might pay when the shipment arrives. You can also pay for the customs duty fee at this point.

Step 5: Review and Make Payment
- If you’re satisfied with the estimate and shipping cost, pay for your shipment as usual.
This feature helps you ship with clarity, confidence, and zero guesswork.
