We are seeking a proactive and strategic Business Acquisition Lead to drive the identification, engagement, and onboarding of new merchants/customers. This role requires a blend of market insight, relationship-building, data-driven decision-making, and cross-functional collaboration to scale our merchant base and contribute to business growth.

Responsibilities & Duties
1. Market Research & Analysis
  • Conduct in-depth market research to identify and evaluate potential merchant segments, industries, and geographic opportunities.
  • Monitor and analyze competitor activity, customer trends, and market dynamics to refine acquisition strategies.
  • Provide insights that guide product positioning and go-to-market efforts.
2. Prospecting & Outreach
  • Identify and target high-potential merchants using a variety of lead generation techniques (online platforms, events, referrals, partnerships, etc.).
  • Develop and execute targeted outreach strategies to engage, qualify, and convert new business leads.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of potential clients.
3. Relationship Building
  • Build and nurture long-term, trust-based relationships with merchants from first contact through onboarding and beyond.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact, ensuring merchants receive timely support, guidance, and feedback.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to merchants, ensuring alignment with their business goals and needs.
4. Cross-functional Collaboration
  • Collaborate with Marketing to develop campaigns and materials that support merchant acquisition.
  • Partner with Product and Customer Success teams to ensure a smooth onboarding experience and alignment with customer needs.
  • Provide feedback from the field to help improve internal processes, product offerings, and customer experience.
5. Data Analysis & Reporting
  • Use data to monitor performance, optimize strategies, and report on key acquisition metrics (conversion rates, pipeline value, acquisition costs, etc.).
  • Develop actionable insights based on data trends and merchant feedback.
  • Prepare regular reports and dashboards for leadership and key stakeholders.
6. Compliance & Risk Management
  • Ensure all merchant onboarding activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct risk assessments for new partnerships and escalate concerns as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of all acquisition activities.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Economics, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, or customer acquisition (preferably in a B2B or tech-driven environment).
  • Strong analytical and research skills, with the ability to translate insights into strategic actions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple prospects and close deals in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in CRM tools and data reporting platforms.
  • Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
  • A self-starter with a growth mindset and collaborative spirit.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in a startup or scaling company.
  • Knowledge of the logistics, tech, or e-commerce space is a plus.
