NIN Verification Now Required for DHL Shipments
Beginning 25 September 2026, customers booking international shipments with certain carriers will be required to verify the sender of the package using their National Identification Number (NIN).
Note: Sender verification is required by DHL Express, Ship to Naija, Terminal Express and Terminal Premium.
This update is designed to ensure that shipments are linked to the real person sending the packages and to strengthen shipment security.
Please note:
- The sender must be the real owner of the package being shipped.
- The NIN provided must belong to the person listed as the sender.
- The sender’s first name and last name must match the information associated with their NIN.
- You should not use your personal details or NIN to send a package on behalf of another person.
- DHL shipment bookings cannot be completed until the sender has been successfully verified.
Once a sender has been successfully verified, their verified identity can be recognised for subsequent shipments, reducing the need for unnecessary repeat verification.
Please ensure that you have the correct sender information and NIN available when booking shipments from 25 September 2026.
